TASTY BITE TUESDAYS: Bombay Potatoes Review
Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 8:00PM
If you read my first Tasty Bite Tuesdays review, or have ever tried any Tasty Bite products, then you know they make awesome vegetarian and vegan food that can be prepared in 90 seconds in the microwave or about six minutes on the stovetop, which for an uber-busy guy like me can come in handy in a pinch. Since I don't even own a microwave, nor would I use it if I did, I take the stovetop route.
Tasty Bite was nice enough to send me a boatload of product a couple months ago, and I have been slowly but surely moving through it and enjoying every bite. Last Tuesday, after a super long work day, I needed something to satiate my after-work hunger without weighing me down for my work I do at night. Since it was cold and rainy, I figured the Tasty Bite Bombay Potatoes could really hit the spot, and I was right.

The Bombay Potatoes heated up perfectly after six minutes in boiling water, and they were in my tummy in probably less time than that. Since they sit in a broth of sorts, it was the perfect soup-like texture to warm me on a dreary day. It also amazed me how well the potatoes cooked, they did not come out hard or starchy at all. The dish was also not overly filling, I was totally able to put in a full night's work after this snack/meal. The seasoning is really good but a little light, so I added a bit of black pepper (which I tend to do with most of my food). The chickpeas added a different texture as well as some necessary protein. Once again, Tasty Bite proved to me that just because food can be prepared fast, it doesn't have to be tasteless, unhealthy, or preservative-laden. Kuddos TB, and to my readers, go pick up some Tasty Bite products at your local health food store, Mother's or Whole Foods.
