Product Review: Indie Candy Easter Specials

Continuing on with our vegan candy reviews just in time for Easter basket stuffing, the next company up is Indie Candy. GoMaxGo brought you the best vegan candy bars in the game, Gourmellows hit you with their uber indulgent vegan marshmallows, caramel, nougat and truffle line, and What Am I brought you artist-inspired small batch chocolate from Brooklyn. What makes Indie Candy stand out from the pack is that all of their candy is produced in a facility that is strictly "Big 8" allergen-free. This means no dairy, nuts or gluten come anywhere close to the manufacturing of these goodies.
Indie Candy recently launched some limited edition Easter candy and sent me a nice selection to review, so here they are:
The key lime flavored flower-shaped lollipop, orange flavored carrot-shaped lollipop, and mango flavored egg-shaped lollipop were all sweet delights that made me feel like a child again. I don't think I've had a sucker/lollipop in literally over a decade, so these were a refreshing treat. The flavors were bold but natural tasting, unlike so many mainstream candy companies. My favorite was the mango flavored egg-shaped version, it was uncanny how much the sucker tasted like real mango.

Not to be outdone by all the conventional candy makers who have chocolate rabbits, Indie Candy offers the dark chocolate "Funny Bunny" and "Peter Rabbit" varieties for us chocolate lovers. With a simple ingredient list of just evaporated cane juice, chocolate liquor, and non-dairy cocoa butter, these delectibles are a cut above anything you would find from Cadbury or Hershey. Seriously some of the best tasting, sweetest dark chocolate I've ever had.

All of these would be a perfect natural selection for the kids' Easter baskets, and since they're available at Whole Foods, you can run out and pick some up over the next two days to throw in the baskets before Easter morning!
