Native Foods Opens at Fashion Island Tomorrow + Double Cheeseburger Pizza

Tomorrow, January 31st, a brand new Native Foods opens at one of my happy places: Fashion Island in Newport Beach. The upscale outdoor mall with views of the Pacific is an unexpected but greatly appreciated location choice for the vegan chain's 12th outpost.

For those who read this blog, you know Native Foods is home to my favorite burger, the Oklahoma Bacon Cheeseburger. A recent addition to the menu is the Double Cheeseburger Pizza, which I have been dying to try since I first noticed it.

Well, on Saturday, Natives hosted a preview day for the new location, and I made it a top priority to try this unique pie. It lives up to what it claims to be, it tasted exactly like a cheeseburger on pizza crust. The toppings include crumbled Original Native Seitan smothered with marinara sauce, melted cheddar cheese, pickles, onions and tomato, topped with NF's 'secret' sweet mustard sauce.

The preview day was a lot of fun as some of my best friends and I got to stuff face compliments of Native Foods and order $2 dollar beers for charity while sitting on the patio in the beautiful Newport Beach sunshine. Thanks, NF!

You should add A1 to it so it'll be the quintessential 'Things Andrea Won't Eat' Pizza otherwise known as 'Things Kyle Loves That Aren't Cupcakes or Dollars'
